The Indian Caregiver aka Usha Tewari was born and raised in Orlando, Florida.  Ms. Tewari is a constituent advocate, and community engager with over 17 years’ experience working for elected officials at the federal and local level. 

While working full-time, Usha was her mom, Mila’s primary caregiver until December 2021 when her mom passed away from end stage dementia.  In 2019, Usha was named Orlando Magazine's "Orlando's Women of the Year" for her dementia and caregiving advocacy efforts, and in 2022 was the recipient of the Orange County Distinguished Asian-American award.

In her spare time, Usha devotes herself to advancing Dementia & Caregiver awareness at the grassroots level in her community. In 2022, she hosted and planned a global virtual summit, "Let's Talk Dementia and Caregiving #SouthAsianSpeak that attracted over 250 global attendees.  She serves as an Alzheimer's Congressional Ambassador advocating for state and federal legislation priorities with the Florida Alzheimer’s Association, and is involved with the Greater Orlando Walk to End Alzheimer's and Longest Day events.
